Authbition Weekly — Freedom to Bail

Letting go isn’t quitting — it’s wisdom in motion

Welcome to the weekly newsletter for Authbition—it’s Authenticity and Ambition. It’s the best of the best, built on vulnerability, non-attachment, caring, thoughtfulness, and whole-mindedness.

🎙️ The Podcast

This week, I read my essay You Don’t Have to Carry the Torch Forever and talked with my friend John about what it really means to finish — or not. We explore the Freedom to Bail: how letting go isn’t failure, it’s wisdom. Together, we dive into why the illusion of permanence keeps us from starting and how nonattachment frees us to light the next torch with renewed energy.

💡 Reflection

For years, I was taught that commitment meant endurance — that integrity meant seeing everything through to the end. But more and more, I see the grace in stepping aside.

This week’s conversation reminded me that letting go doesn’t diminish what was built. It honors what’s already been created and makes room for what’s next. Whether it’s a company, a project, or a creative season, sometimes the truest act of courage is to hand over the torch — or drop it entirely.

There’s an unmistakable peace in realizing we don’t need to hold everything forever. The light moves on. The next story begins.

📘 Highlight of the Week

Feature: Presenting Nobuko — A Hybrid
By Trisha Ready

I just received my copy of Nobuko, and it’s indeed the most beautiful book I’ve ever held. It’s just as Trisha describes it, “red cover, graced with golden mala beads, thick, white, generous pages, and lovely illustrations.”

Each 150-word chapter is connected, creating a rhythm of brevity and reflection.

Trisha’s work captures what I’m learning to love most about short forms: how much life can fit inside small containers. Her writing feels both spacious and precise — a meditation in miniature.

You can find Nobuko at FrizzLit Editions’ online bookstore. It’s a reminder that beauty and meaning don’t require length — only presence.
